Lightning Replacement
The user of this Ninjutsu first performs the Body Replacement Technique to place a conductive object, such as a metal rod, where he or she was a moment ago. Before the object leaves the user's grasp, Lightning Chakra is channeled into it. This causes any bare flesh of the attacker that strikes the object to receive a mild, disconcerting, but ultimately, non-damaging jolt as a consequence of missing the defender. If no melee-range attack was launched or there is otherwise no opportunity for the attacker to contact the electrically-charged object, then the electricity can be made to instead discharge loudly and distractingly into the air, potentially giving the defender an opportunity to put some more distance between himself or herself and any follow-up attacks. An object of appropriate size and composition MUST be immediately available to make use of this Ninjutsu. A kunai would not be sufficient, but a rod of metal would be, because it could be planted in place and remain there to receive the missed attack.
