Not Even A Scratch
This defensive maneuver is based on the most fundamental principle of combat training for Medical Ninja. That principle is that the Medic cannot afford to be injured, because otherwise that will impact the survival chances of those he or she is supposed to be preserving the lives of. "Not even a scratch" is drilled into the heads of newer Medic-Nin by their teachers. Thus, by using a combination of extensive training, extremely well-honed agility, and superhuman reaction time, in concert with manually manipulating the body's muscles and nerves through Chakra enhancement, a Medical Ninja is able to dodge most attacks that come his or her way.
