By using the flesh of many dead people who have been specially-treated with a unique form of taxidermy-derived Ninjutsu a sort of "patch-work" cover has been crafted that can be temporarily used to transform its wearer. The murderer seems to have >become< a creature of sewn-together flesh after transforming. Each patch is resistant to a given form of damage or Elemental Chakra Nature in line with what the victim had in life. The tissue serves as a medium for detecting the environment to an enhanced degree. This raises awareness of incoming attacks regardless of the direction they come from. It is not as good as vision or hearing and is not fool-proof. It >does< increase combat potential significantly however. A final benefit is that this Ninjutsu tool was once the flesh of living people and can conduct Chakra. This allows for better management and more efficient control of Chakra in the ninja's jutsu while he or she is transformed.
