Skill Description

"Reinforced Scalpel" - Reinforced Scalpel is a Weapon Taijutsu attack of the Medic Nin style. A scalpel is not ordinarily meant to be used as a weapon. But sometimes, a Medic-Nin may not have a wide range of weaponry on hand. They ordinarily carry a second pouch for medical tools, independent of a normal shinobi tool pouch. But some Medic Nin see the potential in carrying nothing but medical tools, and training to use them as both weapons and instruments of healing. One of the simplest applications of this philosophy is to carry specially reinforced scalpels, made out of materials roughly on par with a typical kunai in terms of durability, though still suitable for surgery. More than just having them, being trained to use them in battle since they are not wielded the same as a kunai is vitally important. But for one who has mastered their usage, a Medic Nin with Reinforced Scalpels can be quite the terrifying and efficient combatant, essentially dissecting or operating on their opponents while in the process of fighting them, warding off incoming melee attacks by slicing at the limb doing it. This tends to discourage most foes from attacking in the first place, which is the entire point.
